How To Get Rid Of Red Cheeks

Every woman in the world desires to have radiant skin.

But unfortunately, being fit and eating healthy does not always guarantee or provide the edge you always wanted.

The Story:

I am a 28-year old woman. I have a great job and I even look fit for my age.

But 5 years back my skin started to get a little red. At first, I thought nothing about it but after a few days, I started to look like a tomato especially my cheeks!

As funny as it sounds now, it was not so at that time! I was very worried, and it was also embarrassing. I could not get out of the house and I was in desperate need of a solution.

Fortunately, I found the solution and frankly it was not that difficult to find.

The Cause:

If you experience this problem, this unexpected redness on your face is called skin flushing.

And most of the people you come across will usually say that it is caused by long exposure to sun or because of a very strong emotional reaction to some situation or something.

But if your face looks like a tomato for 24 hours or even more, I guess you would not be so satisfied with that right?

Actually, researchers say that there can be various reasons for this. It can be because of medical conditions like menopause or rosacea.

In these conditions, the blood vessels just under your face get swelled up and that make your face red.

The other reasons include too much exercise, powerful medication, allergies, diabetes, acne etc.

Ways to get rid of them

These remedies will not only reduce the redness but also relieve you of the swelling and irritation. The remedies are effective and simple…

Mask it off with a face mask!

This is a very simple face mask with properties to reduce the redness of your cheeks. For this face mask, you will just need oats and water.

You need to mix the water with the oats to make a very fine paste and apply that paste on your face.

Keep the paste on for about 10 to 15 minutes and then wash it off with cold water.

The oatmeal contains starch, beta-glucans, and phenols. These elements provide a nourishing effect on your skin.

If you use it for a long period of time the mask will definitely manage your issues with redness.

Remember to apply the paste at least 3 or 4 times a week for best results!

Conceal the redness with a Concealer

You must be very surprised to hear that, isn’t it?

But it is really true! Actually, concealer has a green pigment that wraps the redness of your skin very well.

You can also use a skin colored concealer instead of a green one.

To apply this you will need a green corrective concealer, a concealer brush, and the translucent powder.

You need to use the concealer as little dots on the red areas and then use a brush to smudge all over, and then apply the powder over it.

Moisturize with Coconut Oil

Only a few drops of coconut oil can help you get rid of the redness of your face.

You need to use the oil in the red areas of your face only and massage it for some time.

Use it before going to bed and leave it overnight.

This should do the trick!

Here the coconut oil acts as a lubricant. It moistures your skin really well and reduces the dryness of your face, which in turn helps with the redness of your skin.

Do not forget to use it daily.

Go with Green Tea

Green tea is known all over the world for its anti-inflammatory properties.

To apply this process you will need green tea bags, some water, and a clean towel.

Take some water in a small bowl and drop the tea bags (3 bags will be fine), keep it like that for a few minutes, then take out the tea bags from the water.

Freeze this mixture properly. Now use a towel to soak the green tea, squeeze out the extra water and then put it on your face.

Leave it there for at least 5 to 10 minutes. Do this every day and you will see results for sure!

The special Manuka Honey

Now you might think what this Manuka Honey actually is? And why is it different from any other honey?

Well, this is a very special honey, collected from specific bees who only feed on the flower of the Manuka tree.

This honey is filled with healing properties and antioxidants.

You will need 2 or 3 tablespoons of Manuka honey and you are good to go.

First, clean your face with water and then apply the honey directly on your face. Leave it there for 20 to 30 minutes and then wash it with cold water.

Use this technique at least 2 to 3 times a day.

The dependable cold compress

A cold compress is often used to fight acne and dark circles but it can also be used to fight skin flushing.

For this treatment, you will need ice cold water and a clean towel.

The treatment process is very easy.

Dip the towel in cold water, and just put it on your face for at least 5 to 10 minutes. You can also use the other method too if you are in a hurry.

Just put the towel in the fridge for some time then take it out and use it.

Use this technique 2 times daily.

Go for Petroleum Jelly

Petroleum Jelly is known to fight several skin conditions, specifically dryness.

For this process, you will need a jar of petroleum jelly and apply the jelly on the red area.

Do not make the layer very thick. Just a thin layer will do the trick. Use this before going to bed daily.

Petroleum jelly actually keeps the moisture of the skin locked in and reduces the dryness and the redness.

But if your skin is very susceptible to acne then this process might make things worse.

So assess your situation first and then go for it!

The cool cucumber therapy

You might know that cucumber is used to ease off skin irritation.

It is a great cure for many skin problems.

The very effective cooling properties of cucumber are in the works here. It keeps your skin healthy and reduces the redness.

For this process, you will need a good cucumber. Get a paste out of it. Apply it to the affected area.

Leave it for some time and then wash it off with water.

Do this at least 3 to 4 times a week.

My Conclusion

Ultimately I would say that choose a process and stick with it.

You cannot go through all of them daily and as long as you are in this condition follow a few tips like stop drinking alcohol for the time being, avoid rich and spicy foods, hydrate yourself with plenty of water and follow a healthy balanced diet.

These tips will make sure that as long as you are recovering; your condition would not get any worse.
